Faith played a big role in his childhood sound. He listened only to gospel music until he was 13 and played piano and sang in church. That background explains his strong vocal delivery. It also explains the emotional weight in his songs.

D4vd Before Fame
Before fame, D4vd edited Fortnite montage videos for YouTube.
His mother pushed him toward music. She suggested original songs to avoid copyright strikes on his gameplay videos. Think of it like a hobby that grew a second job. He needed music for his clips, so he made his own.
He recorded “Romantic Homicide” in his sister’s closet. The clothes worked as soundproofing. A closet is not a studio, yet the dry, close sound became his trademark. That raw tone made him a true indie artist from day one.
D4vd Career
D4vd’s music career took off in 2022 when “Romantic Homicide” went viral on TikTok.
He released the song in July 2022. Short viral clips pushed it to millions of listeners. The song then moved onto streaming charts. His fanbase grew fast.
“Here With Me” followed in September 2022. A record deal came next. He signed with Darkroom and Interscope.
| Year | Milestone |
| 2022 | Viral hits “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me” |
| 2023 | EP The Lost Petals, released September 8 |
| 2024 | “Feel It” for the Invincible series, plus “There Goes My Baby” |
| 2025 | Debut album Withered and a world tour |
“Feel It” was written for the Amazon series Invincible and became his third Hot 100 entry. Withered arrived in April 2025 with a feature from Kali Uchis. That collaboration showed his reach beyond TikTok.
His live shows grew too. He toured with SZA and made his Coachella debut before turning 21. Fans praise his stage presence. His live performances blend soft vocals with heavy bass and anime style visuals.
His sound sits between indie music and R&B. Many call him an indie R&B singer. Others call him an emotional indie singer with a pop ear.

D4vd Net Worth and Achievements
D4vd’s net worth is unverified. One common estimate ranges from $500,000 to $1.2 million.
No financial filing confirms that range. Treat it as a guess. His income likely comes from several places.
| Wealth source | How it earns |
| Music streams | Royalties from streaming platforms |
| Sales | Digital and vinyl releases |
| Live shows | Ticket splits and tour income |
| Brand deals | Fashion and media partnerships |
Streaming income depends on the deal. A label takes a share, and a manager takes another. Take a simple example. A single million streams pays far less than most fans expect, so touring often earns more.
Some profiles claim his catalog passed one billion streams. Check Spotify and Luminate for current numbers. His achievements include a Hot 100 debut, an Invincible placement, a platinum certification for “Romantic Homicide” reported by some outlets, and a debut album on a major label.
Legal costs and cancelled shows may now cut his earnings. His net worth could change.
D4vd Legacy and Impact
D4vd helped prove a bedroom artist can reach a major label through viral clips, but serious criminal charges now cloud his legacy.
His rise changed how young artists think. A phone, a closet, and a short clip became a launch plan. Many Houston singers and young American artists now follow that path.
The case is the other half of the story. He was arrested April 16, 2026, and charged with first degree murder with special circumstances, plus continuous sexual abuse of a child and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty. After a five day hearing, a judge found enough evidence for a trial.
These are charges, not verdicts. He is presumed innocent unless a court finds otherwise. Readers should check trusted news sources for new court dates.
D4vd Nationality and Religion
D4vd is American. His current religion is not publicly stated.
His American nationality is clear. He was born in New York City and raised in Texas. His church upbringing is well documented. He grew up on gospel music. He has not publicly confirmed a current religious affiliation.
D4vd Parents and Siblings
D4vd’s parents are Colleen and Dawud Burke. He also has a sister.
His mother played a key role in his music. She told him to write his own songs. His father keeps a low profile, and few details are public. His sister gave him a closet to record in. That small space started his music career.
The Rivas family has also sued. The suit reportedly names his mother, his manager, and a live in security guard. That is a civil claim. A court has not ruled on it.
| Relation | Name | Public details |
| Mother | Colleen Burke | Encouraged his music |
| Father | Dawud Burke | Little public information |

Prosecutors do make allegations about a relationship with a minor. He denies the charges. Courts will decide those claims.
